Harpeth Pediatrics now offers Nutrition Counseling
You hear a lot of worrisome news and concerning statistics about childhood obesity. It's easy to feel overwhelmed and a little helpless.
This is why Harpeth Pediatrics is now offering NUTRITION COUNSELING to empower your child or teen to adopt a more healthy lifestyle.
Nutrition Counseling will be offered in our office, by our own Adrienne Freeman, P.A.-C. As a pediatric healthcare provider with a B.S. in Nutrition Science and a Master's of Medical Science with a thesis on Pediatric Obesity, Adrienne's background is specially suited for Nutrition Counseling.
She will educate your child on the "hows" of nutritious eating and encourage him as he adopts a more healthful lifestyle.
Because a 14-year-old can take charge of lifestyle choices in a way a 4-year-old cannot, Adrienne's approach is tailored so it suits your child's development.
Your child will:
* Learn nutrition basics about carbohydrates, protein, fiber, fats, and fluids
* Learn to read and interpret food labels
* Receive instruction on portion sizes
* Learn how much physical activity is needed
* Keep a food and exercise journal
* Set goals each week and discuss progress
Stay tuned for dates and times, or call our office to learn the date of the next session.
Session fees will not be filed to insurance, but a receipt is provided if you wish to file your own claim.
